Parent Community Liaison/ COVID Assistant

 

Qualifications:      1.Two years of college or associate degree.

  1. Oral and written literacy in English or another language identified by the
  2. Demonstrated ability to foster positive rapport in schools and
  3. Able to work flexible hours within a 40-hour work
  4. Technology skills (word processing, ) to support the needs of the position.

 

Reports To:  Principal, Strategic Programs Coordinator, Director of Federal and State Programs, and/or the Superintendent’s designee.

 

Job Goal:  To help the district create a positive school image and provide additional support to facilitate communication between school, home and community so that students and families can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resources.

 

Mission and Goals

Works with the Superintendent and those he/she supervises to articulate and promote the school system's vision of learning and teaching.

Organizes daily, monthly, and yearly schedules to facilitate completion of assigned tasks. Communicates high expectations of students, staff, and parents/guardians.

 

Management of Educational Resources

Achieves maximum results for available resources and money spent.

Understands and utilizes available technology of the schools with focus on student achievement. Evaluates program effectiveness and personnel effectiveness and makes appropriate recommendations.

 

Performance Responsibilities

  1. Develops an interest among parents in the activities of the school
  2. Support parents in communication with school staff and understanding policies and procedures of the School and
  3. Provides information to parents about local school procedures, instructional programs, and the names and roles of administrators and staff
  4. Conducts meetings at school or in their homes for parents who request help in completing specific forms for registration for school
  5. Works with district, social workers and parental involvement specialist to make parents aware of local businesses and community organizations that can provide
  6. Helps parent access community
  7. Provides information to parents about the resources available to them throughout the school system and community.
  8. Is familiar with the publications and services of the school system's Parent Resource
  9. Provide home visits in order to clearly explain to parents' intervention information from the schools such as: TST, PBIS, Vertical Team, and other like
  10. Serve on the Parent Advisory
  11. Ensures that standards related to privacy issues are maintai
  12. Assist school administrators and staff as needed to ensure daily COVID-19 safety protocols are followed.
  13. Assist as needed with contact tracing of COVID-19 positive cases and communicating with parents/guardians per District contract tracing guidelines.
  14. Performs any other tasks as required by the Principal, Strategic Programs Coordinator, Director of Federal and State Programs and/or the Superintendent's

 

Evaluation:  Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

 

Terms of Employment:  Nine month employee (187 days). Salary and work year will be established by the School Board of Trustees.
